Cafe de Noche

about

I wrote this song early into college at a coffee shop near campus. I wrote the melody on a napkin and actually added the harmony later! The name Cafe de Noche comes from my regular experience with coffee at night. Due to the latin theme, I wanted the name to be in Spanish (Although it is kind of Spanish slang) due to the culture that inspired this song. Later I learned that this rhythm is very similar to Bossa Nova, which is actually a Brazilian style of jazz, and in Brazil the primary language is actually Portuguese, but the name "Cafe de Noche" had already taken my heart. The song is very melodic and simple overall. I think of it like a charming, peaceful tune that is very soothing, just like drinking coffee at night is soothing to me. Anyways, I hope you enjoy!
